Seelisberg
Idyllic mountain village
The enchanting mountain village Seelisberg is located on a peninsula and perched on a plateau, just opposite of Brunnen. From the old pier and historic boathouse at Treib, the nostalgic red funicular takes guests on a scenic ride up to the village center of Seelisberg at an elevation of 800 m above sea level. Numerous local restaurants have shady terraces with fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
From Seelisberg, countless well marked walking trails lead to local attractions, such as a pristine mountain lake with a sandy beach. Seelisberg and the pier at Treib are best reached by boat, either on a longer cruise from Lucerne and other intermediate points, or just on the short ferry crossing from Brunnen.
