Enjoy a remarkable round-trip by first taking the boat from Lucerne to Alpnachstad and then conquering the 2132 m high summit of Mount Pilatus on the steepest rack railway in world. The dramatic ascent is breathtaking and a true engineering achievement. From the top you will enjoy magnificent views of Central Switzerland’s other lakes and peaks. Then you may descend back down to Alpnachstad by rack railway and return to Lucerne by boat or train, or you can take the spectacular aerial cableway via Fräkmüntegg to Kriens and from there return by trolleybus to Lucerne. Either way, this Alpine experience is amazing!
